Children's Ministry Director

About the Role

Island Family Christian Church is seeking a passionate and organized Children's Ministry Director to lead and support our IFCC Kids Ministry (Birth–5th Grade). This individual will partner with families and volunteers to help children know Jesus, grow in their faith, and learn to love others in a safe and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all children.
  • Support families in the spiritual development of their children.
  • Recruit, train, support, and retain teachers and volunteers.
  • Work alongside teachers to provide age-appropriate ministry experiences.
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders in selecting and implementing curriculum.
  • Oversee the organization, maintenance, and purchasing of ministry supplies and resources.
  • Plan and coordinate annual children's ministry events, including:
    • Vacation Bible School (VBS)
    • White Sunday
    • Movie Nights
    • Harvest Fest
    • Christmas Family Night
    • Other family-focused ministry opportunities
  • Help prepare children for special presentations and church events.
  • Assist with ministry planning, budgeting, and reporting.

Qualifications

  • A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • A heart for children and families.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to recruit, lead, and encourage volunteer teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with church staff, ministry leaders, and parents.
  • Previous children's ministry experience is preferred.
